Just before the Cherry Blossoms

We crossed the river on a beautiful and warm Saturday morningto see the fuss about the cherry blossoms. It seems that the nice, warm weather of that day caused the blossoms to come out a week or two later (they're now all falling off).

The blossoms, in turn, brought out the tourists. The whole city was teeming with people and going back down in the crowd seemed too much to deal with, so ths was our one trip there.

I have been jogging at lunch and today I ran across the river and around the basin to compare the state of things. It wasn't crowded, but was a little like pole position running on the path.

I liked it beter during the "cherry bud" fest; far fewer people. You can see that e had a clear path up to the Jefferson Memorial. Finn likes stairs.
